Most of the time on an interior job goes into the hours before any colour is opened. Furniture is shifted and wrapped, floors and light fixtures are covered, and then the walls get attention: holes filled, cracks opened up and patched, repairs sanded level, bare spots primed and the gaps along the trim caulked. Skip those steps and the new paint simply shows the old problems in a fresh colour.

We take on anything from one bedroom to a whole house, including ceilings, baseboards, door and window casings, doors and closets. Sheen is chosen room by room: flatter finishes where you want walls to look soft, tougher washable ones for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and trim. Low-odour, low-VOC paint is our default, which matters in a Barrie winter when the windows stay shut.

When the last coat is dry we go through the rooms with you in daylight. Anything you spot gets touched up on the spot, the furniture goes back, and we take our drop sheets and rubbish with us.

Common questions about interior painting.

How long will one room take?+

Plan on a day or two for a typical bedroom, counting the patching, the ceiling, the trim and two coats on the walls. A whole main floor is more often three to five days. The dates are written on your quote.

Who moves the furniture?+

We do. Large pieces are slid to the centre of the room and wrapped, then put back. Please take down pictures and pack away ornaments and electronics before we arrive.

Is one coat ever enough?+

Rarely. We quote two finish coats, plus primer wherever there is a patch, a stain or bare drywall. Going from a dark colour to a light one can also need a tinted primer, and the quote says so if it does.

Can we live in the house during the work?+

Yes. We finish one area before opening the next, and the paint we use has very little smell, so most families carry on as normal.

We can bring swatches and tell you how a colour is likely to read in your light and which sheen suits each room. You make the final call.
