Trim, Door and Baseboard Painting in Barrie

People judge a paint job by its edges. Straight lines, level enamel and closed joints make a room look complete. Runs, brush tracks and gaps do the opposite, however good the walls are.

Baseboards, casings, crown, wainscoting, railings, spindles and interior doors are cleaned, sanded and filled, and the joints are caulked. Older oil-based paint gets a bonding primer so the new coats grip instead of peeling. The finish is a durable enamel, in satin or semi-gloss.

Taking stained wood trim to white is a request we hear constantly. Few changes alter the look of a house as much.

We provide trim and door painting across Barrie, including Central Barrie, North Barrie and South Barrie. Call (705) 996-5068 for a free estimate.

Trim, Door & Baseboard Painting questions

Trim, Door & Baseboard Painting FAQs

Common questions about trim, door & baseboard painting.

Can stained trim go white?+
Yes. It is cleaned and sanded, then primed with a stain-blocking bonding primer so the tannins in the wood do not bleed through, and finished in enamel.
There is oil paint on the trim now. Will latex stick?+
It will after sanding and a bonding primer. Latex put straight onto oil nearly always peels.
Are doors painted in place?+
Normally, yes. If you want the smoothest possible face, they can be taken off and sprayed.
Satin or semi-gloss?+
Either wears well and wipes clean. Semi-gloss is shinier and shows up more of the flaws in the wood.
When is the paint fully hard?+
It feels dry within hours, but enamel keeps hardening for a couple of weeks. Go easy on it until then.
